The Ukrainian intelligence services claim to have received new confirmation of the preparation of a terrorist attack this Friday at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant by Russia and fear a “large-scale” attack.
“We have received additional confirmation from (information services) about the preparation by the occupiers of a provocation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant on August 19, ” the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
He specified that “in particular, the licensed personnel (who perform their duties on the basis of a license issued by the State Nuclear Inspectorate) have been instructed to stay at home” and that “a small part of the operational personnel” will have permission to access to the plant territory.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, at yesterday afternoon’s meeting of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant management there were no representatives of the Russian state company Rosatom, which since the occupation have attended all such meetings.
He also stressed that Rosatom representatives “have completely abandoned the territory of the plant.”
“Considering the number of weapons that are now on the territory of the nuclear power plant, as well as repeated provocative bombing, there is a high probability of a large-scale terrorist attack on the nuclear facility , ” warned.
