Sanchez Conveys To The President, The Palestinian Authority Spain’s Support Of The Palestinian Situation

Pedro Sanchez, the President of the Government, met with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority in New York, and shared his interest in peace and Spain’s commitment to the Palestinian people.
This is the second meeting between both leaders. They met in Madrid in 2017 and had a meeting again in New York in 2017. Sanchez and Abbas met at this event in New York. They will both attend this week’s opening session of the 77th General Assembly.
Sanchez spoke to Abbas during the bilateral meeting and expressed Spain’s desire to promote peace in the region as well as a political perspective for the application of the two-state solution.
According to a statement by the Presidency, the Government, the head of the Executive also showed Spain’s commitment toward the Palestinian situation and the preservation of adequate space for its civil society.
